Does your cabin have air conditioning?

No. Summer nights in the Tahoe region are generally quite cool (40's-50's) so there is no need for an air conditioner. There are two fans and a humidifier in the upstairs bedroom closet if you need them to make your stay more comfortable.

Who is responsible for snow removal at your cabin?

The property managers will plow the snow in the driveway and up the front walkway. However, if there is a big storm (or several days of storms) you might have to do some shoveling on your own. If so, there is a snow shovel for your use in the downstairs master bedroom closet.

Will I need tire chains in order to get to your cabin in the winter?

The Tahoe area can get snow almost year-round. It is recommended that you bring chains when you drive to the mountains, especially in winter.

What type of soap do you provide?

Dishwasher detergent, Dishwashing liquid, Liquid hand soap and Laundry detergent.

Are dishes and cookware available in the cabin?

We have enough dishes and glassware to set a table for 8 people.  There is also a large assortment of pots, pans, bake-ware and Tupperware.

Are there condiments in the refrigerator?

In general, we do not stock the cabin with condiments (ketchup, mayo, mustard etc). We do make sure that sugar, salt, pepper, spices and cooking oil are available.  If you plan to cook, please bring your own supplies.

Do you have any baby equipment?

There is a portable crib (bring your own sheets), high chair and stroller in the large upstairs bedroom closet.

Can I smoke in the cabin?

No smoking is allowed anywhere in the cabin or on the decks.

Can I bring pets?

No pets are allowed.

How many TVs? Stereo?

There are two TVs in the cabin, each with expanded cable service and DVD players. One is located in the family room and the other in the large upstairs bedroom. There is also a stereo/iPod player in the main family room.

Is there a microwave, coffeemaker?

Yes. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, oven, coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, can opener, wine opener, bottle opener, plates, bowls, utensils, etc.

Is there a washer and dryer?

Yes. Laundry detergent is also provided.

Do I need to bring towels or sheets?

No, we provide all linens and bedding as well as bath and beach towels.

Do you have a garage?

No, however there is parking room for two cars in the driveway.  Note that there is no street parking in the winter months due to snowplow activity.

How big is the cabin?

The cabin size is approximately 1500 square feet.  There are 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a family room and a laundry room. The cabin can accommodate a maximum of 8 people.

How far is it from the cabin to the downtown area/casinos?

The casinos are approximately 9 miles from the cabin. The best way to get there is as follows:
Leaving the cabin, make a right turn on Mandan Street and another right turn on Pioneer Trail. Travel on Pioneer Trail until it merges with Hwy 50 at a stop sign. Then, make a right turn on Hwy 50 and the casinos, movie theaters and Heavenly Village shopping area will be two blocks away at the state line.

What is a Lodging/Occupancy Tax and why do I have to pay it ?

This charge is a 10% tax which the county of El Dorado imposes on overnight stays which are less than 30 days in duration.  Any room, cabin or house you rent South Lake Tahoe will include this tax.  This tax must be paid by renters and is forwarded directly to the county by the landlords.
